Jakarta, Three BUMN Banks are ready to finance the development of the new international airport of Lombok, as to replace the Selaparang Airport in West Nusa Tenggara, which its construction project tender had been approved last March.
The Financial Director of PT. Angkasa Pura I, Laurensius Manurung said that the three banks had stated to participate in financing the international airport development. The three banks were; Bank Mandiri, BNI and BRI.
The construction of Lombok airport costing around Rp. 665 billion, in which the funding contribution comes from three parties: NTB Province Government for about Rp. 110 billion, Central Lombok Government contributes Rp.40 billion, which is posted in APBD (The State Income & Expenditure Budget) gradually from 2007 to 2009 and also from Angkasa Pura I Rp. 515 billion.
He further said that his party was considering the possibility to use internal budget. “But we are still estimating the possibility” Laurensius said.
Regarding the plan to publish the obligation, he stated that Angkasa Pura I was not about to publish the obligation, because they preferred the financial from banking source with little risk.
The obligation will be published after the project development is finished. The obligation publishing will aim to return PT. Angkasa Pura loan for the airport construction to the bank.
Lombok International Airport Development in Tanak Awu is constructed because the existing airport is little bit difficult to develop as a result of the lack of land. It also causes the big plane is difficult to land.
Otherwise, the number of passenger is increasing to 900.000 per year. It is seriously noted for the airport company to find a new airport location in order to give comfort and safety guarantee to all services users.
The airport was built on a 538 hectare land, and is targeted to be finished in 2009. This new airport is designed to accommodate 1,5 million passangers.
