| Finally, The MoU With Pt. EMAAR Is Signed Up The Dubai investor is really serious in developing the LTDC former land in Central Lombok. This is proved by the assignment of MoU with PT.EMAAR Properties LLC (Dubai, UEA) last Monday. The taking-over of tourism in South Coast of Central Lombok was signed by Muhammad Ali Albar (Dubai UEA) in Vice President, Yusuf Kalla’s office in Jakarta. EMAAR property is one of the biggest company groups who invest in properties and financial in some foreign countries like; America, Europe and Asia. EMAAR is also one of the world biggest companies who own some international class hotel businesses. The investment on the LTDC former land is estimated to cost up to 600 to 700 million dollars. It has been planned that the realization of this project will be done in parallel with Lombok International Airport. The assignment process was attended by 21 invitations from Central Government and NTB regency. The central government was represented by Vice President, Yusuf Kalla, The Minister of Financial, The Minister of Tourism and Culture, The Minister of BUMN, The Minister of Transportation and a number of Directorate Generals and The Director of PT. Angkasa Pura I. While NTB regency is represented by The Governor, HL. Serinata, Central Lombok Regent, HL. Wiratmaja, The Head of Central Lombok DPRD, Ahsan Husein, The Assistance II of NTB Province Gonvernment, Drs. H. Abdul Malik MM, The Head of BAPPEDA NTB, Drs. HL Faturrahman MSc and The Head of Culture and Tourism Department, HM. Nur SH. In his opening remark, the Vice President, Yusuf Kalla stated that this investment will give a lot of job fields for the people around and will raise the people’s income, the national income and the regency’s income itself. Kalla alerted people that this investment should be kept securely. It has stated on the three pages of the press release signed by Serinata and the Central Lombok Regency’s Secretary, Drs. H. Mas’ud that PT.EMAAR has put his commitments to take over the tourism assets. According to NTB Province Government’s Public Relation, Drs. H. Maggaukang Raba, PT. EMAAR Group has been interested on the LTDC former land from the very beginning. Therefore, he had sent his representative to follow up the investment case and this also become the concern of President and Vice President and they had also sent the Minister of Financial to Dubai in the early 2007. Central Lombok Regent through his Secretary Drs. Mas’ud stated that the reason of PT. EMAAR investment in Central Lombok was because Lombok is considered as “Another Bali”. Therefore, PT. EMAAR has estimated the tourist arrivals in NTB will reach 2 millions per year. In investing on the LTDC former land, PT.EMAAR will put the commodity development on the first priority for the sake of the people around like; schools, mosques and other public facilities. |
